About Undertuned

Who runs it

Undertuned is run by James, a guitarist based in the UK. It exists to answer two questions before you buy: where is this cheapest right now, and is that actually a good price?

How it works

1. We match the exact product across UK music retailers, so like is only compared with like.
2. We rank retailers by delivered price, cheapest first, with UK delivery included. Nothing else affects the order.
3. We keep a price history for each product, so you can see whether today's price is normal or unusually low.
4. We flag genuine price drops only when the best price is at least 5% below what it usually was over the previous 4 weeks. No inflated "was" prices.

Used gear from eBay will be shown separately, exactly as eBay sellers list it. It's never mixed in with retailer prices or scored.

Where we are now

Undertuned is brand new. We're setting up price feeds from UK retailers, and until they're live, the product pages show example prices that aren't real. Each one is clearly labelled.

What Undertuned isn't

Undertuned isn't a shop. You buy from the retailer, on their site and under their terms. How Undertuned may earn money is explained in the affiliate disclosure.
